The Health Benefits of Til Ladoo

Til ladoo is a winter sweet made out of sesame seeds and jaggery, and it is endowed with natural warmth and health. Sesame is a good source of calcium, iron, and antioxidants. Jaggery is also rich in minerals and offers slow-release energy.[1]

The two ingredients combined create a nutritious snack that will keep you strong, healthy, and energised during cold seasons.

1. Til Ladoo is a Winter Fuel for Warmth and Energy

The healthy fats, vitamin E, and minerals found in sesame seeds are slowly used up by the body.[2] Jaggery may support blood circulation and energy production because it contains a high percentage of unrefined sugars and minerals.[3]

All these ingredients, when combined to make til ladoo, can be used as a natural winter fuel to keep the body warm.

2. Til Ladoo May Support Immunity

Sesame seeds are also good sources of antioxidants, zinc, and healthy fats that may help support the body’s normal defence mechanisms.[4]

Jaggery is iron-rich and contains trace amounts of other minerals, which can help support healthy blood flow and normal energy levels.[5]

A combination of all these nutrients, in a til ladoo, can synergise to support your body through the changing seasons.

4. Til Ladoo Gives Long-lasting Energy

Sesame seeds are a good source of protein and contain healthy fats, which may help an individual maintain prolonged activity.[7] Natural sugars and minerals are also present in Jaggery, providing a sustained energy source.

These ingredients may help the body get a healthy boost when made into ladoo, especially on cold mornings or on a busy winter day when you need steady energy, not bursts.

Sesame seeds may aid in easy digestion and easy bowel movement.  Purana gud (1-3 yr) old jaggery is considered laghu, agnideepak in Ayurveda, meaning light to digest and facilitating digestion.
