Introduction

A mom’s life is an ever-growing to-do list, and to keep up, we need a dose of good humor, a nutritious diet, and lots of energy. However, off late, I had been noticing a dip in my energy levels – especially in the afternoons when all I wanted was a quick nap. Every afternoon I found myself struggling to stay awake and alert.

After some research, I concluded that I needed to make a few lifestyle changes to improve my health – especially my digestive health, as it may contribute to sleep disturbances and lead to constant fatigue.

How Does Digestive Health Impact Us?

Our gut and our brain are connected a lot more than we know. Many experts call the gut — the second brain because of the connection with the brain and our digestive tract. A healthy digestive system aids in energy production in the body. It further communicates with the other cells in the body, thus avoiding fluctuating energy levels.

Here are two changes that I made to my lifestyle to improve my digestive health and my energy:

Water

Many of us, including me, ignore drinking water unless we are thirsty. But drinking more water throughout the day gives the energy to help us feel powerful throughout the day and do anything from lifting heavy toddlers to staying awake after lunch.

Introduced Multigrains Into My Diet

I made a simple shift to a more nourishing atta that would not affect the taste and the softness of the rotis.

Aashirvaad Atta with Multigrains is a healthy atta variant that contains the goodness of six different whole grains as Wheat, Soya, Channa, Oats, Maize, and Psyllium Husk.

One of the benefits of multigrain atta is that it is high in fibre, which supports digestion.

Some of these fibres also act as prebiotics; prebiotics support the growth of good gut bacteria. And improve digestive health. Aashirvaad atta with Multigrains is also a rich source of protein which helps build strength. These are just a few health benefits of using multigrain atta in my diet. In fact, besides rotis, I also tried making multigrain atta cookies, cakes, and halwa – all of which turned out amazing!

Choosing to add multigrain atta into your diet is an easy way to incorporate more nutritional content. The maize in the multigrain atta is a rich source of vitamins and the Psyllium Seed Husk scrubs the intestines and could boost bowel movement. The chana does not overload your system with sugar; the oats are a source of lasting energy. The fibers in the soya bean are known to improve digestion.

Aashirvaad Atta with Multigrains gives me rotis that are softer in texture and healthier in nutrition. In conclusion, the minds of mothers are like a computer screen, but with 99 open tabs at any point in time. To know more about your family’s digestive health and improve the same, log on to the Happy Tummy website and check your Digestive Quotient now.
