Foods rich in Vitamin K should be avoided/consumed in minimum amounts if you have a blood clot and/or are consuming relevant medications for blood clots. Vitamin K, is a Fat-soluble vitamin that is stored in the liver, body tissues and bones. The main function of Vitamin K is coagulation of blood which helps in clotting of the blood. Vitamin K is also known as clotting vitamin.

Here are few vitamin K rich sources that should be avoided/consumed in minimum quantity.

  • Green Leafy Vegetables (cooked & raw)- Palak (spinach), Methi leaves (Fenugreek leaves), Shepu, mustard greens, Kale, Lettuce, Parsley, Spring onion.
  • Vegetables such as  Cabbage, Cauliflower, Broccoli, Red cabbage, Brussels sprouts
  • Meat And Meat Products such as  Chicken liver, Beef liver, Egg yolk, Cheese.
  • Other Foods-Kiwi, Figs, Prunes, Avocado, Soya beans.
