Dear Siya Golani, Thank you for the question

Blood thinner / Anti-clotting medications make sure that certain components of the blood don’t stick together so easily, in order to prevent blood clots from forming. Anti-clotting medication is used to lower the risk of certain cardiovascular diseases that are caused by blood clots, such as heart attacks, strokes, and venous thromboses.

Individuals usually who are on blood thinners are advised to be on a vitamin K restricted diet. For example, foods like cauliflower, broccoli, green leafy vegetables, soyabean etc are vitamin K sources

However, you can include Cumin/Jeera in the form of a jeera water as a part of your daily balanced diet, it is considered beneficial due to the antioxidant properties and biochemical compounds present in them.

Cumin seeds are nutritionally rich as they contain protein, dietary fibre, Vitamins B and E iron, manganese, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, copper, zinc, potassium and MUFA (monounsaturated fatty acids). Cumin contains some important components such as pinene, cymene, terpinene, cuminaldehyde, oleoresin, thymol and others that have potential beneficial properties..

Some of the known benefits of Cumin/ Jeera  include:

  • Helps  maintain  blood sugar levels
  • Aids in digestion
  • Contain antioxidants, which potentially helps reduce oxidative stress
  • Helps support immune system

Jeera/ cumin water is beneficial for health, it can be included as a part of your daily balanced diet. Like any other food, it alsomust be  consumed in moderation, as excess intake may lower your blood sugar levels which can lead to adverse health issues.

According to your preference you can consume it anytime of the day.
