Dear Samoa Doli, Thank You for the Question.
Weight gain or weight loss does not entirely depend on one particular food, ingredient or cuisine, it involves multiple factors such as Dietary intake, physical activity, lifestyle pattern, metabolic conditions, genetics, stress etc.
Keeping in mind daily energy needs, yes you may consume Boiled potatoes in moderation, as a part of your daily balanced diet. Curd, Buttermilk, Yogurt etc are good source of probiotics which are beneficial bacteria that incur positive effects on gut health and overall digestive system. You can include curd and even other fermented milk products like Buttermilk, yogurt as a part of your daily balanced diet with your meals or in between your meals in adequate amounts.
ICMR NIN recommends to consume a minimum of 300ml of milk and milk products per day as a part of your daily balanced diet.
For general wellbeing you may begin with consuming A balanced diet is one which provides all the nutrients in required amounts and proper proportions. It can easily be achieved through a blend of the four basic food groups. The quantities of foods needed to meet the nutrient requirements vary with age, gender, physiological status and physical activity. A balanced diet should provide around 50-60% of total calories from carbohydrates, preferably from complex carbohydrates, about 10-15% from proteins and 20-30% from both visible and invisible fat.
As a general dietary guideline, for an apparently healthy individual/ with no specific health or nutrition needs and/or metabolic condition it is recommended to consume 2000kcal/d and the RDA for protein requirement is 46g/d for women and Fibre is 25g/d.
